What should I say.....

Okay, of course I have been trying to think of something to say about our new President. I am trying to stay positive and respectful. He, of course is a person of worth and if I may sound so cheesy, a child of God. I have tried to see him as a father and a husband and as a son. I'm sure he has some good attributes. He serves as a symbol of success to the African AmeBoldricans, these are all good things. But we all know how it works, with the good Satan always throws in a little bad. Okay in this case a lot of bad. Abortion is bad, socialism is bad, stealing money to give it to someone else is bad, hanging out with unrepetent terrorists is bad.
So please, as you witness the love affair (sean hannity's line) that the world is having with Mr. President please remember that a preBoldsident should be judged on his character, moral, and actions. Unfortunatley, I believe he was elected because he was black and because he promised poor people a good job, outstanding healthcare, and a dignified retirement......things he cannot give them. They of couse can only truly attain these things by themselves. I wish I could have been happy on the day of that historic inauguration. I guess what I am trying to respectfully say, is that I hope he learns a few things in office. I hope he realizes that socialism always fails, capitalism always succeeds, why people must not be deprived of their responsiblity to care for themselves, that freedom comes with a price, that their are some terrorists so evil and so dark they must not be let out into society again (GITMO), and that life is precious, a baby is a gift and miracle, not a punishment or inconveinience. Oh, how I hope he learns these things and learns them fast. Good Luck Mr. President, you are going to need it.

Well put! I agree. People do have a love affair with Obama hence the lack of common sense many Americans are lacking. You need to get your own radio show, I'd listen! You're Great!

I had an interesting experience today. I checked your blog right before going to class this afternoon. In this particular class, my professor had just gotten back from the inauguration in D.C. While he was there he ran into President Uchtdorf and Elder Ballard who were also at the inauguration (he put a video of it on his facebook http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=726520183&ref=ts) Another girl in the class mentioned how at a recent stake conference Elder Ballard talked about his experience at the inauguration and suggested the audience members go home and read President Obama's address, saying it was very powerful.

I'm not trying to say I agree 100% with President Obama because I definitely don't. It just kind of opened my eyes to hear that.

I was waiting for this post, and thinking about what you would have to say about President Obama. And I must say that you exceeded my expectations with how nice you were! I felt during the election that I was between a rock & a hard place because I didn't really want McCain, and I didn't really want Obama either. It's a tough election when there's no one running who you want to be President! My curiosity has been spiked like never before to see how this administration fares!

Michelle you are so right. In response to Janae's comment. The speech was powerful. He said some great things. How much of it do you think Obama wrote??? He has speech writers who focus on writing REALLY great speeches. I don't think we can or should interperet what an apostle says at a stake conference for everyone especially second or third hand. Anyway, it will be very interesting to see the effect Obama has on our nation.

Thanks for your comment on my blog Michelle. I have a good time checking your blog. You have an adorable family and it is fun to read about moms experiencing the same things I am. I think blogs are great.
I wasn't trying to be controversial with my comment. I guess I just wanted to agree with you about Obama being a child of God. As you already said, I don't think Elder Ballard or Elder Uchtdorf were making a political statement. I do think they were showing respect. And it means something to me when people I respect show respect for something. I think their thoughts are well quoted in this article from the Deseret News http://www.deseretnews.com/article/1,5143,705279298,00.html.

Michelle, you asked about what I am studying. I'm just finishing up my masters in public policy, hence the politically minded professor. I'll have to be honest I feel more comfortable looking at policy decisions than discussing politics. I guess I don't understand what someone's pastor said or how much someone spent on their wardrobe really has to do with anything.
Thanks for the discussion. Sorry if I overstepped by putting my comments in.
